It goes something like this, sold House, decided to move to Queensland because its warmer and no where near Canberra, bought 5 acre property in Booral, Qld. Moved all our possessions to new house, then locked out of Queensland due to Covid border closures, homeless for 5 months. Finally able to enter Queensland and start again in late 2021. Arguably the best and worst experience in my life.
The whole pandemic issue gave many allot of time to think about the fabric of our society and government management of a perceived or real crisis. As an apprentice I was always curious to listen to the older tradesmen talk about elected government of any flavour and hear their deep mistrust of any political party and their motives and yet here we were working for Defence which always had strong overtones in the workplace of both the right and left. This deep mistrust of government came back to my thinking having reflected on how we found ourselves in a mindless and heartless stalemate locked out of our new home for an indefinite period of time, my lobbying and letter writing to every politician in the country came to nought and forever more I will Never Ever give a politician of any flavour any higher consideration other than SCUMBAG.
